I found this kind of old video camera in my dead mom's house a few years ago, it literally looked rotten. Unknown green liquid came out and dried up on it, that was literally a Zombie Camcorder

Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but the transmitter site shown in an aerial view in the beginning around 0:52 is the shortwavesration Zeewolde, in the Netherlands, broadcasting Radio Netherlands Worldwide, up until 2012. Unfortunately, the massive antenna structures have been taken down in 2018, and the station has been repurposed. The miners that caught the mine on fire did not quite think the whole process through. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. With that said I love visiting these old mining towns.

For all the people looking to visit this place here are a few things to consider. First off I wasn’t going to leave a review, but seeing as though the owners and the two people who run the page for the owners blocked me on Facebook for telling the truth and just being a voice of opposition. Yes this village used to be a place of history, and was built in early 1900’s. You can incision that and see the village all from the public road and see all you need to see. They are literally charging you $30 per person to tour the houses and property. So here is all I said on FB, nothing inside any of the houses are from the early 1900’s, even the basements cellars etc. every house has been updated to present times. I mean the last residents moved out in 2011. Look at pictures online of people who actually did pay that amount to look through modern houses. CD players, electric organs and TVs. Plastic toys the list goes on and on. They say the $30 is for upkeep, well if ya go by today you can see there is hardly any upkeep happening, and on top of it they ask for help via volunteers to clean things up with the promise of free tours of the property if ya do ha. Yes this village was built a century ago, and today the only thing that shows that is what it looks like from the road surrounding it from afar, and you don’t need to pay these people $30 to visit modern interior housing ha. They don’t want people to think of that so they blocked me totally, I can’t even search their page and find it while signed in. So I will be leaving these reviews on internet sights so people can have another view. Visit this place for sure, it’s a place of history in PA, just stay on public property and take pics and videos and try to envision what it was like in the early part of the 1900’s. Because you won’t see anything on a $30 PP tour that will show you that that you can’t see from public property. Hope this helps

East Liverpool will never recover in any way until the city puts a stop to antisocial behavior. Go sit on a street for an hour any day of the week and you will see, and more importantly hear why nobody is willing to invest in the city. Dirty people cursing each other in loud voices on the street. Loud vehicles revving it to the redline between stops. Thieves are everywhere. Nothing is safe, not even flowers in your front yard. The only people that can clean it up are the residents themselves. Stop tolerating abhorrent behavior. Drive city hall crazy with complaints. At least the people in charge will know not everybody in the town approves of the BS.

Back in the day when I was a VCR tech, I used special cleaners for the heads so that you don’t snap off the video head. I’m going to call them like a shami type of wipe which was glued to a flat piece of plastic.

I like how they talk about lead and cadmium, but then show video of Mercury.... And acid rain isn't going to cause paint to peel on the underside of a soffit.... So much bullshit in this video...

I went to the Lake Hope area numerous times as a kid, I remember when the Chessie still ran freight on the line. Those trains would FLY down the track. We used to stay at a rental place on Wheelabout Rd. just east of Lake Hope off of Shea Rd., which turns into Hope-Moonville Rd. There used to be an abandoned clay mine right behind the old Hope school house which is now the Zaleski State Forest Backpack Trail Head. It's since been reclaimed. Once was at least a one track siding there, to the north of the mine on the other side of Raccoon Creek, and on the south side of Shea Rd. There probably was a rail siding to the west into the mine, before the track crossed the creek just before it crossed Wheelabout Rd. If you go there in the summer, bring really good bug spray, the mosquitos are brutal...

I don't know what impact the chip plant in New Albany will have, but the average salary is going to be 130K, that would buy a LOT in that area. about an hour and ten minute drive though.

Born and raised in East Liverpool and you taught me things I didn't even know about it. Great work! Correct me if I am wrong but I believe East Elementary was torn down sometime in the 2010s. This was long after the school district was consolidated down from 4 elememtary schoole (North, East, Westgate and LaCroft) to two (North and LaCroft). The building that you were showing was the old East Junior High which had ceased to be that and later became the Ohio Valley Buisness College before itself was shutdown.
